I found this course to be excellent. Not only am I a CPA but I am also a full time instructor at a small college and I wanted to take a good course on IFRS to keep current for my classes. This course was perfect, easy to understand, and very complete. It was just what I was looking for.

Good introduction

This book was a good introduction to IFRS-- not going too much in detail but giving you more than a high-level summary and included some numerical examples, etc. There's a lot to cover, so I found I better understood the content by going one chapter at a time. Also, I would recommed reading through the financials in the book after learning the material as it helps reinforce the concepts learned with real examples. For anyone intimidated by IFRS, this book will put you more at ease. I feel more comfortable performing a "deep dive" study into IFRS after taking this course.

This book helped me to understand the major differences between US GAAP and IFRS, and was helpful in performing the first IFRS audit that my firm has been engaged to do. While it was not as technical in nature as would be required for the purpose of writing an audit issues memo, it alerted me to areas that I could research in further detail. I would recommend it to CPAs wanting to know the big picture differences between US GAAP and IFRS, as well as college and graduate students.

This was a particularly useful course. The subtitle, "What in the World Is the Difference" stated the subject matter precisely. The course took the mystery and, if I may say, the fear out of this topic. I understand the scope and depth of differences much better AND the underlying logic for these differences.
I highly recommend this course for anyone who needs an overview and confidence to get started.

This product gave me an overall view as well as specific areas where IFRS and U.S. GAAP differ. This information was helpful in helping me to focus on the differences and learn more specifically what will change if/when all companies must adhere to IFRS guidance rather than GAAP. After having read and reviewed this information, I feel that I am better informed on where the accounting guidance is heading.

This book provides a good introduction to IFRS without getting lost in all the details. It highlights the important differences for quick referencing, rather than providing lengthy explanations that one would find in a GAAP handbook. Highly recommended for those conversed in US GAAP but need to be familiar with IFRS.

Great introduction to IFRS by way of comparison to GAAP. Informative and easy to comprehend for an overview of the basic principles and the differences in standards. The abundance of examples provides the "visual" user with the data necessary to delve deeper when implementation is required.

This is an excellent introduction to international accounting rules. The manual is a good reference tool for the differences between GAAP and IFRS. In addition to providing examples of the reporting differences, the manual also details the history of IFRS and the structure and operation of the IASB.

Great publication, especially if you are just starting to research your project.
The book is very organized into easy to read topics. The format is similar to a CPA review text book, fast to find and understand which is very important given the number of differences.
There are many examples to view. The only complaint I have is everything is black and white - no color and the paper copy is not coated, similar to copy paper and the outside cover is not of high quality.
This book will look a little beat-up after it is passed around in the first year of use.
Overall this is a good inexpensive research tool given the topic.

This self-study manual proved quite resourceful, useful and well-informed on the aspects of what makes up the IFRS. I’d have to say that for those of us who are not fully aware of the GAAP in the United States that know our company needs to make a transition to the IFRS, this would be the guide to turn to. Worth every penny!

This course has all the basic information you need to get up-to-speed on IFRS and US GAAP convergence and differences in key accounting treatment. I previously took a 2 day seminar by one of the big four firms, and I can say that this AICPA self-study guide is really as good as that course and much less expensive.

This was a good introduction to differences between GAAP and IFRS however I did expect more substance to the course. The text seemed overwhelming at first until I discovered that over half of the text was the example financial statements for 4 companies.
I guess I will need to take the next self-study course to get the in-depth knowledge I was looking for. In conclusion, this course is truly intended to be an introduction and it meets that expectation.

This was a relatively good CPE course. Since I would imagine that most people purchasing it would have little to no exposure in this area but are interested in learning more, it did a good job of showing the broad differences, rather than the detailed ones that would be difficult to understand without a better background in the subject. In a increasingly international market, this sort of product is just what CPA's need.

While not an indepth look it gives a good skim of what to expect when the standards are combined. One of the easier and understandable self studies that I have used.

My company is considering adopting IFRS and has appointed me to manage the project. I had little prior knowledge of the differences between GAAP and IFRS and this course has helped significantly bridge my knowledge. I would recommend to anyone who is needing a basic understanding or to jump start more in-depth study. The case studies were particularly helpful.
