As a State Government employee with reporting responsibilities, I have found the State and Local Governments Audit and Accounting Guide to be an excellent source of guidance for the preparation and review of annual financial statements.
The Guide serves both as a reference to professional standards and GAAP, as well as an excellent tool in the review reporting compliance and presentation of the financials prior to submission to our auditors.
