Understanding State Compliance January 30, 2009
Written by: Jody S. (Nashville, TN) (read all my reviews) (read all my reviews)

Having spent the past 10 years in corporate accounting, I decided to fill a need with the company and moved into tax accounting and compliance, which includes responsiblity for the FASB 109 provision and federal and state compliance. Assuming the complexities of the job would be understanding statues concerning what may or may not be deductible, I was unaware of issues surrounding pre- or post-apportionment, market source vs. cost of performance, or the difference between combined or consolidated for state filings. The Multistate Income Tax course spells out these complexities and provides sufficient case history to help understand how we got to where we are. The course book still sits close by for reference when needed.
