Excellent introduction to the various FAS standards relating to Pension & Benefits accounting. Covered standards included 123R, 87, 106 and 112; course also discussed the changes required in the implementation of 158. In addition to teaching the requirements of the various standards, the course also gave some background on why the standards were implemented (what problems they were intending to resolve).
I thought the section on accounting for Research & Development was out-of-place in this course. I would have preferred to have the course just be focused on Pension & Benefits accounting.
