As author of this course, I would recommend this manual to anyone who is interested in learning about FIN 48 in the minimum amount of time with a very practical approach to the topic. The approach used throughout this manual places an emphasis on the theory of FIN 48 and follows it with specific examples that give both a theoretical solution and specific journal entries where applicable. All topics are designed to lead user from the basic concepts to more advanced topics and always keeping in mind what a practicing CPA has to deal with in this area. Each section is designed to stand alone, but will generally be more beneficial to the user if all sections are covered in the order presented. Chapter 2 has a specific theoretical approach and diagram that will aid in understanding the relationship between SFAS No. 109 and FIN 48 and provides guidance on helping one book all the required journal entries, from the most basic to the most advanced.
